My Boys

Maybe I am bragging, but I think I have the best boys in the world! I just love them because they are mine and I would love them even if they were the most horrible acting children on the face of this planet!
As I run into more people and answer their questions about being a "New Mom" again and being a "Mom of three boys", all I can do is thank God for my awesome boys! All of our boys are unique in their own ways.
Rylan is more like Ky. He is very laidback, but is a planner. He is very tenderhearted. I am sure that he is the sweetest big brother in the entire world! He takes such good care of both of his little brothers and I couldn't be prouder of him. He is even nice enough to share his bed with Talon almost every night. With that being said, he also does his fair share of pestering Talon too.
Talon is more like me. He is very laidback and completely just goes with the flow. He loves to go places and hates it when someone leaves without him. He talks non-stop, even if we don't understand everything he says yet. He also has the most animated face and eyebrows that I have ever seen. He will grow into being an awesome big brother, but at the moment, just really doesn't pay much attention to Brecken. He also likes to tattle on his brother.
Brecken has been very laidback so far. He only cries when he is hungry. He is becoming more alert everyday. He loves to just lay around and take in the world around him. I can already tell that he is going to have Talon's animated face and eyebrows! He really works to get them going and is always making funny faces.
I just love my boys!!
Until next time...

Introducing

Brecken Gram
November 20, 2010
7 pounds 11 ounces
19 inches

Brecken is an awesome baby! He eats and sleeps so good. He is already sleeping 4 hour stretches during the night and is pretty much like clock work during the day, feeding every 3 hours. Ky and I adore all of our boys and are so in love with Brecken already. Rylan loves his littlest brother too. He always wants to hold him or just affectionately touch him. It took Talon about a week to warm up to the idea of his new little brother. In the beginning he was really good about ignoring everything to do with Brecken. He wouldn't even look at him. Now Talon loves to kiss his head and eagerly watch as Brecken gets his bath. Ky went back to work Wednesday so this is my second day by myself with the boys and so far it has been going great. Until next time...

We are just waiting these last few weeks for Brecken to make his arrival! My bags are almost packed and I really want to get my Christmas tree up this week. I'm very afraid once Brecken is here, that Christmas will be the last thing on my mind and will be here before I turn around. We can't have Christmas without a Christmas tree and lights! Until next time...

The Cut

We went and chopped off Rylan's summer locks. It was his idea to grow it out and it was his idea to chop it off again. He looks so much older with shorter hair. Here are his before and after shots:
When Rylan was standing for his before shot, as soon as he moved, Talon stood right where he was and assumed the position. So here is Talon's mug shot:
We went to open house at Rylan's school on Thursday and met his teacher, Ms Dodd. This will be her first year as a teacher, but she seems really nice and we have heard nothing but good things about her student teaching. After the open house, we went out to the new Cooper High School football field and watched the Pirates scrimmage Muleshoe. Cooper just built a huge stadium with turf and it is incredibly nice, equipped with a tv monitor and everything! Rylan is supposed to be able to play his football games there and he is really excited. This year will be Ry's first year of playing tackle football. He has been waiting for weeks to get his equipment in the mail. Well it finally happened today, so he and Ky suited up in the back yard and Ky was teaching him how to tackle.
And then there is Talon. He is really into shooting things right now and I think he makes the best gun noises. Here he is in action:Until next time...

Back in the Saddle

So today is a huge day for us! School starts in exactly one week and I am back on my "normal, not so normal" working the weekends routine. I'm glad that we have a week to get back on a schedule before school starts. Rylan has open house Thursday, where we will find his classroom and meet his teacher. He really isn't ready for school to start, but is ready to see his friends everyday again.
Rylan had his grass drills for football tryouts Saturday and Ky said he did awesome! This will be his first year playing tackle football, so that will be a new adventure for all of us. He is excited to get started and to start playing "real football"! Rylan has been growing his hair out all summer and we are going to get it cut sometime this week. I'll post before and after pictures of the huge change!
Talon is growing like crazy. He has finally started to make sense when he talks. He is attempting to put together words to make sentences. He had surgery Friday to correct a hydrocele we had been watching for about 6 weeks. Rylan had the exact same thing when he was little. Rylan's was worse and was corrected at 14 months. Talon did so good, but had a hard time waking up from the anesthesia. The nurse ended up giving him some pain medicine to help him go back to sleep and wake up slowly instead of scary and all the sudden. His surgery was at 8:30 and we left the hospital at 11. After a little vomit in the car and a Chick-Fil-A stop later, we were at home. Talon ate lunch with us and even ended up playing tackle with his brother soon after. We all took good naps that afternoon and slept like babies that night. Saturday, Talon played in the sprinkler and pool with Rylan. I wish I could bounce back like little kids do.
Ky is just working and being an awesome Dad and husband. He is also going to try and help coach Ry's football team. I think he is ready for a normal school routine just like me.
I'm just working and enjoying being a mom. I'm doing good and finally getting a real baby belly. Meaning you can look at me and I actually look pregnant, not just packing on pounds for the winter. :) Brecken is moving around like crazy. My favorite part of being pregnant is feeling all the little kicks, squirms and hick-ups inside my belly. There is truly no greater feeling! Ky has been able to feel Brecken since 17 weeks. Rylan also likes to feel him kick and always asks me if Brecken is awake.
We had so much fun in Kearney! It was so nice to get away for a while and spend time with my sister before the madness of school starts! I didn't take near as many pictures as I should have. Keep in mind, we were chasing 3 boys under 2 years old, so I think we have a good excuse! I'll leave you with some of my favorite pictures from the summer. Until next time...

Summer vacation...

That is what I am going to call my hiatus from the blog. Sorry. We have been very busy since my last post. Rylan finished school and baseball. He made the all-star team, so that made baseball go even further into summer. His team finished forth in the city all-star tournament, which we think is awesome! We went to visit Ky's Mamaw in June and had a wonderful time! We also spent some much needed time with the twins while Marsha was down from Nebraska. Most importantly, we found out that we are expecting our next bundle of joy on December 2! We just had our anatomy sonogram and found out that we are going to have another boy! We are very excited to welcome him into our family. He even already has a name, Brecken. We are still working on his middle name, but that will come with time. I will be very outnumbered, but there is nothing like being the only Princess in the house! We are going to visit Marsha and Daryl this week in Nebraska and we are very excited to get away and spend time with them and the twins. I literally have a billion pictures I need to post, but will narrow it down and get them up after we return from our vacation. Until next time...

Talon's Favorite Things

Talon has been such a busy little boy. He has recently learned how to crawl into the bathtubs. He loves his bath time and he loves the bathtubs. He crawls in, stomps, yells and laughs. He also loves playing with his brother's toothbrush. If he can get in Rylan's bathroom, Talon has Rylan's toothbrush, guaranteed. All that playing will make a little man tired. Talon doesn't do this very often at all, so we had to snap a picture of him sleeping somewhere other than his bed.
One of his favorite things to do is sit with me and cuddle. He loves to see what I'm doing on the computer or just sit with me and watch tv.
Talon has started talking a lot more. Most of the time it is in his own language, but he will add real words in there and we just laugh at him. He jabbers all the time to everyone, even people he doesn't know. It is so cute. Until next time...

Easter

I had to work on Easter, so Saturday we went to my Mom and Dad's house to celebrate on Saturday. We also celebrated the Twin's birthday with family while we were there. On Sunday, Ky and the boys went to his Papa and Grandma's house to celebrate. Here are some pictures of the boys hunting Easter eggs.

We got to spend some good times with these two and their Mom and Dad. Until next time...

Baseball

Baseball is in full swing around our house. We either play or practice at least 3 times a week. Needless to say, we are busy! Rylan is playing machine pitch baseball this year and it is really fun to watch. He plays pitcher or short stop. Here are a few shots of him in action.
Of course, he is number 10. He has to be just like his Dad. Ky isn't a coach but help the boys a lot at practice and is in charge of the lineup in the dugout during the games. Thank goodness Chelle and Morris are always there to help me corral the beast, aka Talon, during the games. Until next time...

Roasted Garlic Beef Brisket

Friday was spent making delicious food since it was so disgusting outside. I made a delicious brisket and Chelle came over and had supper with us and enjoyed some NCAA basketball. We had a very fun night, be we were very upset that we had to watch Duke on the computer and not on our huge TV.

For those of you who don't know, I don't enjoy cooking. Especially not with weird things or dishes that take a lot of prep work. Ky is the cook in this house. He is a million times better than I am, and he enjoys cooking and watching the Food Network. I would rather scratch my eyeballs out than watch that. We had a brisket in the freezer so I was on a mission to find a recipe for it. Thursday night, I was able to find this recipe. It was so much fun and this was the first time I cooked like real chef! I snapped a few pictures as I was cooking, to share.
The Brisket after I seared it.The onions being sauteed.Garlic added and being sauteed.I even cooked with a real live plant! This is the oregano. I couldn't find fresh basil, so I had to use dried. All the ingredients together to boil.Everything together before cooking the brisket. The finished product. It was so delicious and I was so proud of myself and so was Ky. He was very impressed! Maybe I will whip out my cooking skills more often. If the end result is as good as this, it will be so worth it! Until next time...
